CONVERSATION STARTER:

Today we shared our church's annual report. We saw how God has grown us in so many areas in 2017! Which areas, if you were there, stood out to you the most? Give a testimony of how God used you this year either in a Dream Team or through an outreach.

Ask Champion Group members to share their favorite points from the sermon, what spoke to them, a phrase or moment from the sermon they related to the most, or questions they have. If members have a hard time recalling the sermon, talk through your notes and share your favorite points.

DISCUSSION

The Qualities of the House that God Loves

References: Mark 2:1-12

What were the four qualities of a house that God loves? (They value God’s presence, they value God’s word, they value what He values, and they are a people of .faith)

In Mark 2, what did the men with the paralyzed man do that showed that they valued the things that God values?

Look in verses 6 and 7. Did the Pharisees have any qualities of a house that God loves? What in the passage proves that they did or did not have these qualities?

A Good Problem to Have

References: Luke 5:1-11, Malachi 3:10, 2 Chronicles 1:6-7, 11-12, 1 Kings 11:1-14

What does Malachi 3:10 tell us about the blessing of God?

The fishermen, Simon Peter, James and John, saw first hand the way that God’s blessing can be so great that you cannot take it all in. What problem did the men have before Jesus came to them? How was it different from the problem they had after Jesus came to them?

How did the experience of seeing God respond to their faith impact the men in the boat? How did it change their life?

How did God’s attitude toward Solomon change from 2 Chronicles 1, when Solomon gave 1000 burnt offerings to the Lord  and when he began worshiping other idols in 1 Kings 11? What does this tell us about God’s blessing and his values?

Make it Personal

What does it look like for you to value the things that God values personally? What do you think it means for us as a church?

Describe a time when you prioritized the things of God and saw Him work on your behalf.

What are some ways that you can prioritize the things of God this week?

What do you think keeps people from prioritizing the presence of God, Word of God, and values of God?

ACT ON IT

Think about what it is that God values. Evaluate the way that you live your life and pray about what you can change to help your priorities better line up with God’s priorities. Find one adjustment you can make to better prioritize the things of God this week and see how God will bless you as you continue to put His Kingdom first!

BEFORE YOU CLOSE:

This week Campus Director Jeff Hancer shared about the law God put in place of seedtime and harvest and how it applies to our finances.

Read Genesis 8:22

When we give seed to God, we are putting something in God’s hands for him to work with. God has promised us blessing, but that blessing can only come if we sow as well! If you want to see this principle in action in your life and desire to bless the Lord with your tithe or offering, you can do so by donating on the Champion Center App or through PushPay.

PRAYER, PRAYER REQUESTS, AND TESTIMONIES

Ask Life Group members to share any prayer requests or testimonies they have. Record any notes or prayer requests to pray for members during the week. Take time to pray and ask if anyone would like to receive salvation, baptism of the Holy Spirit, or prayer for a physical need.
